Mercedes Mone Explains Why She Joined AEW

This past Wednesday, Mercedes Mone made her highly anticipated debut at AEW Dynamite: Big Business. Mone addressed her hometown fans and said that she had found a home. Mone then stated that she had unfinished business with Willow Nightingale.

Nightingale picked up the victory over Riho in the main event. After the match, Julia Hart and Skye Blue attacked Nightingale. Mone then came to Nightingale’s aid. The show ended with Mone standing tall in the ring.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Mercedes Mone explained why she has decided to join All Elite Wrestling.

“I want to be here [AEW], I need to be here, and it’s because of the women’s division. The women here laid the foundation. They’re the reason I want to be in AEW. We’re going to make so much magic here.

This is a global revolution, that’s why I’m here. You don’t think I can take this around the globe? Well then, let me show you I can. My heart is here. My dreams are here. I love wrestling. I’m a leader, and I’m going to lead.”
