Matt Cardona formerly known as Zack Ryder last competed on WWE television on the March 9th episode of Monday Night RAW. Cardona was then released by the company on April 15th, 2021 as part of budget cuts. Since then, Cardona wrestled in numerous independent wrestling promotions.

Recently, there were a lot of names circulated on social media who could come back to WWE under Triple H’s regime. One of the confirmed names is Chelsea Green. Now, her husband is also scheduled to return to WWE.

Ringside News has reported that WWE planning to bring back Matt Cardona.

“Matt Cardona’s name has come up a lot regarding a #WWE return.

We are told that Cardona is on WWE’s radar for a return, because he’s talented, but Triple H has a lot of people on his radar right now.”

During an interview with NotSam Wrestling, Matt Cardona expressed his interest to return to WWE under the “Matt Cardona” name.

“I would have a conversation. I’m not saying we haven’t already. Who’s to say who’s to say? I think Zack Ryder is dead. Would it be cool? A woo woo, would that get a bigger pop maybe for one night as opposed to ‘Alwayz ready’? Maybe, because that’s more familiar with the WWE Universe and audience. But if I were to go back, I think it has to be as Matt Cardona. If I say like, you know, Razor Ramon came back as Scott Hall.”

We will update you when we receive more details. Stay tuned with The Spotlight.
