William Regal joined AEW after being released from WWE in January this year. Regal made his first appearance on AEW television in March at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view where he came to separate Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson from fighting each other.

However, Regal’s time in AEW ended after he was attacked by MJF on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday. Regal was then stretchered out of the arena. Now, multiple news outlets have confirmed that Regal was officially left the company.

PWInsider has reported that William Regal will start working with WWE after the new year.

“In an update on William Regal, PWInsider.com is told that he is finalizing a new deal with WWE and is currently expected to officially start after the New Year.
As we previously reported, he is returning for a backstage role.”

We will update you when we receive more details. Stay tuned with The Spotlight.
