This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, Jeff Hardy faced Jeff Jarrett in a Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch. Jarrett won the bout with help from Satnam Singh and Jay Lethal. However, the match received a huge backlash from fans.
The special bout took place to promote the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game. Dave Meltzer stated that All Elite Wrestling has received $100,000 to promote the game. Tony Khan has donated the full amount to Maui Wildfires Relief Efforts.
At one point during the match, Leatherface appeared on AEW television and chased Karen Jarrett. Fightful Select reported that Dean Alexander was the person behind the mask.
“Fightful Select has learned that Dean Alexander portrayed the role of Leatherface for the event. Alexander has been wrestling for All Elite Wrestling for about two and a half years..”

Alexander’s had a bunch of matches on AEW Dark since debuting in 2021.

Alexander last competed on the February 26th episode of AEW Dark, where he lost to Peter Avalon.
