Dakota Kai Provides Medical Update On Her Injury

Dakota Kai suffered a torn ACL during a Tag Team match on the May 12th episode of SmackDown, where Kai and Bayley faced Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. The 35-year-old underwent surgery on Tuesday, May 23rd.

Earlier this month, Iyo Sky cashed in her MITB contract on Bianca Belair to capture the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. Dakota Kai made her return during Sky’s celebration. Last week, Dakota appeared on SmackDown alongside Bayley and Iyo Sky. The Role Model and Sky attacked Charlotte Flair and Asuka while Dakota stood at the ringside.

On her Twitch stream, Dakota Kai said that she has to wait six months to be medically cleared.

“There’s a misconception with me being on SmackDown. I’m not healed. You’ll probably notice that I’m not really involved with anything that requires ‘activity.’ Let’s put it that way. I still have just under six months to go before I’m actually cleared.”
