Seth Rollins is scheduled to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor at Money in the Bank. Balor brutally attacked Rollins on last week’s RAW and NXT. However, NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams came to make save Rollins from Balor’s attack on last Tuesday’s NXT.
The Visionary appeared on last night’s RAW to update his condition. NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes also sat on the front row during Rollins’ promo. Seth Rollins thanked Hayes for helping him last Tuesday. Finn Balor attacked Rollins during the promo. Balor then attempted to hit Rollins with a chair. Hayes grabbed Balor’s chair.
Later on RAW, Carmelo Hayes faced Finn Balor in a singles match. In the closing moment, Balor hit a Gutbuster and Missile Dropkick on Hayes. To finish the match, Balor delivered a Coup De Grace on the NXT Champion.
On the WWE’s Digital Exclusive, Carmelo Hayes responded to his loss to Finn Balor on last night’s RAW.
“If I gotta take a loss to one of the best in the world, I can accept that. But, listen, the important thing is tomorrow night against Baron Corbin, for the NXT Championship, I am not 100 percent, but I believe I can beat Baron at 75 percent, at 50 percent, [or] at 25 percent. I know he’s gonna put up a great fight, but I’m ready, man. I might take a loss, but I look in the mirror and I’m still Carmelo Hayes. That’ a W.”
