In the past few months, WWE pitched several opponents for Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. However, Brock Lesnar is scheduled to face Omos at WrestleMania 39. The match was made official this past Monday Night RAW during the “VIP Lounge” segment.

Fightful Select reported that WWE offered Steve Austin a match against Brock Lesnar for the Show of Shows last July, but Austin turned down the offer. In November, Gunther was named Lesnar’s opponent at WrestleMania but it was also canceled. WWE had an idea about Lesnar-Lashley’s fourth match at WrestleMania but it was also nixed.

Fightful Select further noted that WWE pitched Bray Wyatt as Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania opponent but Lesnar refused the match.

“We’re not sure necessarily when Bray Wyatt was pitched as a possible opponent for WrestleMania, but he was mentioning it as recently as right before WWE Elimination Chamber. Sources familiar with the situation claim that Brock himself nixed the idea, though we weren’t given specifics as to why.”

Yesterday, it was reported that Vince McMahon has been involved in the creative team to book the match between Lesnar and Omos.
