Big E made his main roster debut on the December 17th, 2012 episode of Monday Night RAW by attacking John Cena. In 2014, WWE paired Big E with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to form the New Day. The faction has a guaranteed Hall of Fame spot in the future.
The 37-year-old has accomplished a lot of things in WWE. Big E won the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match in 2021. He won the WWE Championship for the first time in his career on the September 13th, 2021 episode of Monday Night RAW.
However, 2022 was a tough year for Big E. He suffered a neck injury during a tag team match on the March 11th, 2022 episode of SmackDown. Recently, Big E stated in an interview with Corey Graves that “I feel great, man. I feel 100%. I don’t even feel like someone who broke their neck. My mobility is incredible. It’s great. My strength is great. I have no issues whatsoever.”
Yesterday, Big E appeared at a SummerSlam press conference, where he was asked about his health condition. The former WWE Champion said that the doctors told him not to wrestle again.
“We did the year check-up and all that stuff looked great, but on the other side, I also talked to spine specialists, people who have worked on other people in the company and done their fusions and they said, ‘Hey, I would not wrestle again if I were you.’
For me, at 37, these are things that I think about. I think about quality of life. When I started this job at 23 and probably had a bit of a death wish and was okay at dying in the ring, I would now like to not die in the ring. I would like to do other things with my life. I don’t really have a timeline right now. I’m just really grateful to not have any nerve pain. My strength is great. Legit no issues whatsoever.
It’s something I want to be smart about and make the best decision for my life. I’d like to have a lot of healthy life ahead of me. I want to be smart about things. Unfortunately, right now, I have no answer. I feel great, but I have nothing.”
