Last month, Iyo Sky faced Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship at Backlash PLE in Puerto Rico. Sky received a huge ovation from Puerto Rican fans. However, Bayley interfered in the match despite Sky’s objection. As a result, Sky lost the match. Since then, Iyo Sky’s facial expressions indicate that she doesn’t like Bayley anymore.
Two weeks ago on SmackDown, Asuka and Iyo Sky had a promo in the Japanese language. The Genius of the Sky said that she will win the Money in the Bank and challenge The Empress for the title.
Sports Illustrated reported that Asuka is expected to use her veteran presence to elevate a younger star as the next WWE Women’s Champion. They noted that Iyo Sky will be the next Women’s Champion after Asuka. Sky has impressed Triple H for years, and the reaction she received from the Puerto Rican fans gave her more energy to become the next champion. WWE management has also discussed making Iyo Sky a babyface and feuding with Bayley in the future.
