This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The show kicked off with the Jericho Appreciation Society’s mandatory meeting. Daniel Garcia, Jake Hager, Tay Melo, Anna Jay, Angelo Parker, and Matt Menard walked out of the JAS. Sammy Guevera told Jericho that he is loyal and sees Jericho as his friend. Guevera also said that he would stick with Jericho if he chose the right side.
The Young Bucks defeated The Hardys in a Tag Team match. Matt Jackson grabbed a mic and called out FTR after the bout. The AEW World Tag Team Champions came to the ring and raised their Championships. The match was made official for All In.
Jack Perry defeated Rob Van Dam to retain the FTW Championship.
Adam Cole told MJF that he wants to win the ROH Tag Team Championship with MJF. Cole challenged Aussie Open to a match for the titles in the Zero Hour of All In. Roderick Strong interrupted Cole & MJF and expressed his jealousy. Strong was mocked by MJF. Roderick Strong then joined The Kingdom. Adam Cole told MJF that he shouldn’t mock Strong. Cole pushed MJF but later apologized. The AEW World Champion accepted the apology and told Cole to go to check on his buddy.
Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli defeated The Lucha Brothers in a Tag Team match.
In the main event, Hikaru Shida defeated Anna Jay to retain the AEW Women’s Championship.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the August 9th episode of AEW Dynamite drew 846,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.29 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (August 2) drew 894,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.31 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
