This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. Chris Jericho and Konosuke Takeshita faced Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara in a Tag Team match to kick off the show. Don Callis attacked Garcia with a baseball bat when the referee was distracted. Jericho then pinned Garcia to win the match.
Jerry Lynn told Jack Perry that he isn’t medically cleared to compete. RVD then made his AEW debut and confronted Perry. RVD will face Jack Perry for the FTW Championship next Wednesday on AEW Dynamite.
Trent Beretta defeated Jon Moxley & Penta El Zero Miedo in an Anything Goes match. After the match, Best Friends and Blackpool Combat Club got into a brawl. Chuck Taylor then challenged the BCC to a Parking Lot Fight on AEW Rampage tonight.
MJF gave Adam Cole an AEW World Championship match in the main event of All In. Cole signed the contract without hesitation. MJF and Cole then hugged each other.
The Elite defeated Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, & Satnam Singh in a Six-Man Tag Team match.
Aussie Open defeated El Hijo Del Vikingo & Komander to retain the ROH Tag Team Titles.
In the main event, Hikaru Shida defeated Toni Storm to become the new AEW Women’s Champion.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the August 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite drew 894,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.31 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (July 26) drew 898,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.29 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
