Vince McMahon Explains Why He Agreed To Merge WWE & UFC

Last December, Vince McMahon sent an email to the WWE board about returning to the company. At the time, Stephanie McMahon along with other executives opposed the idea of McMahon returning to the company due to allegations.

In January, Vince McMahon came to the WWE headquarters and was elected as Executive Chairman of WWE. Last April, WWE and Endeavor signed an agreement to form TKO Group Holdings. On September 12, TKO was listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Last Friday, more than 100 WWE employees were fired from the company after the Endeavor deal was completed. On Tuesday, Vince McMahon, Nick Khan, Paul Levesque, Kevin Dunn, and Brad Blum held a meeting for the remaining employees.

PWInisder has provided some notes from the meeting. Vince McMahon has introduced Ari Emanual as his boss. McMahon then explained why he agreed to merge WWE and UFC. According to McMahon, “the company had plateaued and to get to the next level, this was the deal that needed to be done.”
