Last year, Goldberg competed against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber PLE. However, Goldberg was unable to win the title. Since then, WWE didn’t use him on television.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, the WWE Hall of Famer stated that the company owes him a retirement match. Goldberg said, “You never say never, especially in wrestling, and they owe me one, That’s all I can say. I made a deal with the devil, and I did my job, and they owe me a retirement match.”
Fightful Select reported that Goldberg’s WWE deal expired last December. They added that the company didn’t hold a discussion with Goldberg to renew or extend his contract.
“Bill Goldberg’s WWE contract expired at the end of 2022, and no deal to renew or extend was reached. Goldberg has been officially a free agent since that point.”

Since 2018, Goldberg’s half of matches took place in Saudi Arabia. Goldberg put over Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Roman Reigns in his last run.
