WWE Royal Rumble premium live event is schedule to take place tonight from The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. Six matches are confirmed for the event.
In addition to the Royal Rumble matches on the men’s and women’s side, WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, Universal Champion Roman Reigns and RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will all be in action in title defenses. The Show begins at 8 p.m. ET and the kickoff show one hour prior to the main card at 7 p.m.
Let’s look at the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble predictions.
Edge & Beth Phoenix vs. The Miz & Maryse
This is the first time Edge teaming up with his real-life partner Beth Phoenix in his WWE career. The Miz and Maryse are not unfamiliar with working together in a WWE ring. Both Maryse and Phoenix are former champions who no longer compete in the ring. Our Prediction: Edge & Beth Phoenix win the match.
Becky Lynch vs. Doudrop for the RAW Women’s Championship
Three weeks ago on Monday Night RAW, Doudrop became the new #1 contender for the RAW Women’s title by defeating Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair in a triple threat match. Doudrop is a fresh opponent for Becky Lynch. But it hard to imagine Doudrop picking up the RAW Women’s title, because Becky in a featured spot at WrestleMania 38 as RAW women’s champion and possibly will defend her title against the winner of the women’s Rumble match. Our Prediction: Becky Lynch retains her RAW Women’s Championship.
Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship
January 7th edition of SmackDown ended with Seth Rollins showing up in Roman Reigns’ locker room and laughing at him. Rollins was then confirmed on the following Monday Night RAW that he will challenge Reigns for the Universal title at Royal Rumble. The storyline is fantastic because of their promo segments. If this wasn’t the Royal Rumble premium live event this could easily be the match of the night. With the stipulation added that the Usos are barred from ringside, this will definitely be a one-on-one match. It’s hard to imagine the tribal chief lose in a WrestleMania season. Our Prediction: Roman Reigns retains his Universal Championship
Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar became the new WWE champion at Day 1 after winning a fatal five-way match against Bobby Lashley, Big E, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens. The following Monday Night RAW, Lashley earned a title match against Lesnar after defeating Big E, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens. This is the first time that these two superstars face each other in a singles match. Bobby Lashley has been confidence and respect of his opponent, while Brock Lesnar is completely ignoring his challenger. Both superstars have a very good MMA background. This match could end in Lashley defeats Lesnar for the WWE Championship with assistance of some sort from Paul Heyman and gives Lesnar the shortest title reign of his career. Our Prediction: Bobby Lashley becomes the new WWE Champion.
Women’s Royal Rumble Match
WWE has announced 23 superstars for the women’s Royal Rumble match which means seven spots are remaining. Current Impact Knockout Champion Mickie James, The Bella twins, Lita, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly and Summer Rae will be entrants in the match.
Asuka, Kairi Sane, Paige, Bayley and Lacey Evans could return at Women’s Royal Rumble match as well. The biggest news surrounding the Women’s Rumble is Ronda Rousey’s long-awaited return. If Rousey does make her return on tonight’s women’s Royal Rumble match, she will win the match and challenge Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s title at WrestleMania 38. Our Prediction: Ronda Rousey wins the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
Men’s Royal Rumble Match
WWE has announced 25 superstars for the Men’s Royal Rumble match. There’s no one has really been built up for win the Rumble. As for surprises, Shane McMahon, NXT Champion Bron Breakker and Gunther could make an appearance in this year’s Rumble.
As a result of Brock Lesnar losing the WWE Championship, Lesnar will enter the Royal Rumble and wins the match. Our Prediction: Brock Lesnar wins the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
