Vince McMahon’s regime decided to put both WWE & Universal Titles on Roman Reigns’ shoulders without any long-term plans. As a result, several stars were kept out of the main event picture.
Recently, WrestleVotes reported that WWE will split the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship by July.
In a new report, WrestleVotes told GiveMeSport that WWE has created a new Championship and it was approved by Triple H. The new title could be introduced at any time.
“There’s a new belt. I don’t know for sure if it’s getting a new name. I don’t know if one of the titles is going away, but there’s a new belt that WWE has had made and the decision-makers have approved. Like, if they wanted to introduce it on TV tomorrow, they could. Those boxes are checked.”
Cody Rhodes is set to face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39. A few months ago, The American Nightmare expressed his interest to bring back the “Winged Eagle” title after he defeats Reigns. However, there’s no word on whether WWE wants to bring back the 30-plus-year-old title.
