This past Monday’s WWE RAW took place at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. Drew McIntyre addressed the fans after losing to Seth Rollins last week. McIntyre said that maybe he should leave WWE and come back after nine years. CM Punk interrupted McIntyre. The two exchanged a few words. Punk told McIntyre that he didn’t come to WWE to make friends. Punk said that he came to WWE to win the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania. Punk also said that nobody can stop him from winning the Royal Rumble, including Drew McIntyre.
Tommaso Ciampa defeated Finn Balor.
The match between Kofi Kingston and Ludwig Kaiser ended in a count-out. Kaiser attacked Kofi after the match.
Kayden Carter & Katana Chance defeated Chelsea Green & Piper Niven to retain the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
In a vignette, R-Truth explained why he’s a member of Judgment Day. Damian Priest and other Judgment Day members saw R-Truth’s explanation via television. Priest told others that it was really funny. However, Priest also told them that he would handle the R-Truth problem when the time was right.
The Miz defeated JD McDonagh.
Seth Rollins came to the ring and addressed the fans. Rollins said that he did many things in WWE but never carried a World Championship to WrestleMania. Jinder Mahal interrupted Rollins. Mahal said that Rollins overlooked him. The Visionary told Mahal that they overlooked him on purpose. The Modern Day Maharaja ambushed Rollins. The two got into a brawl. Seth Rollins got the upper hand.
Otis defeated Ivar.
In the main event, Cody Rhodes defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in a Street Fight.
According to Nielsen via SpoilerTV, the January 8th episode of WWE RAW drew an average of 1.464 million viewers on USA Network and did a 0.44 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
