WWE PR Criticized Journalist For Asking Triple H About Drew Gulak's Departure

Last Friday, Drew Gulak and several other NXT talents were released from WWE. Gulak’s name became a talking point in the world of pro wrestling after Ronda Rousey accused him. Therefore, Gulak’s release garnered a lot of attention from the media.

During the WWE Backlash post-show press conference, reporter Lucas Charpiot asked Paul “Triple H” Levesque about Drew Gulak. Charpiot cited Fightful and PWInsider as the sources of Gulak’s release. WWE Chief Content Officer told Charpiot to pick credible sources and said that Gulak’s contract wasn’t renewed.

In an interview with Pollock & Thurston, Lucas Charpiot revealed WWE PR’s reaction to the question about Drew Gulak.

“I knew because one of the PR as soon as I said my question to Triple H, said to me, ‘What a dumb thing to do’… Yeah, right after I asked it, he looked at me and said, ‘What a dumb thing to do.”

I’m stunned by this. @LucasCharpiot shares what a WWE PR rep said to him following his Drew Gulak question at the Backlash presser. pic.twitter.com/nzwgYFw055
