WWE King & Queen of the Ring was supposed to take place on Saturday, May 27th at the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. However, last Friday the company announced that Night of Champions PLE will take place on May 27 instead of King & Queen of the Ring.

WWE did not announce the reason for the change, but on May 27, Roman Reigns will reach the 1000-day milestone as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Every championship on the main roster is scheduled to defend at Night of Champions PLE. Therefore, many fans questioned whether the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments would be held.

PWInsider reported that WWE management has yet to decide whether the tournaments will take place at the premium live event. A source told PWInsider that the tournaments are “less likely” to happen.

The company held the King & Queen of the Ring tournament finals at 2021 Crown Jewel, where Xavier Woods and Zelina Vega were crowned as the King and Queen respectively. The tournaments didn’t take place last year.
