In this week’s SmackDown, Roman Reigns made his return after WarGames Match at Survivor Series PLE. Many fans expected something big happened during the show due to weeks of teasing about Sami Zayn. However, nothing happened regarding The Honorary Uce. Instead, The Tribal Chief said that they have a “KO Problem.”

Roman Reigns then challenged Kevin Owens to a Tag Team match on the December 30th episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Reigns said that Sami would be his Tag Team partner.

Later, John Cena appeared on the screen and read the message that he received from Kevin Owens. Cena then revealed that he is Owens’ Tag Team partner. However, it wasn’t the original plan for that segment.

Fightful Select has reported that Kevin Owens had supposed to appear on SmackDown and confront The Bloodline. Although, Owens was unable to come to the show due to travel issues.

“Kevin Owens was supposed to be featured on the double Smackdown tapings, but couldn’t make it due to what WWE told us was a “nightmare travel situation.” As a result, Owens had to be written out of the shows and major production and writing changes were made. Originally Owens was supposed to be face-to-face with the Bloodline to introduce the John Cena video.”
