WWE Backlash premium live event took place this past Saturday at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. That was the first time in 18 years the company held a show in Puerto Rico and has gained huge success.

Today, WWE announced that the viewership for Backlash PLE has increased by 28% when compared to last year’s show. Backlash made the largest gate than any other event held by WWE in Puerto Rico. This year’s event reported the highest revenue than any other Backlash PLEs in the past.

34,800 fans have attended SmackDown (16,896) and Backlash PLE (17,944). The San Juan Street Fight between Damian Priest and Bad Bunny was viewed by 40 million fans across all of WWE’s social media platforms. The hashtag #WWEBacklash, accompanied by a custom Bad Bunny emoji, trended as No. 1 across the entire evening under the sports category.

This year’s Backlash premium live event broke the merchandise and sponsorship records as well. WWE Backlash and LWO Puerto Rico t-shirts were the top-selling items. Sponsorship revenue surpassed any Backlash event in WWE history, it has increased by 98% compared to last year’s WrestleMania Backlash.
