By The Spotlight StaffJune 17, 2023
Women's Tag Team Title Unification Match & More Announced For Next Week's SmackDown

Next week’s SmackDown is scheduled to take place at the Cajundome in Lafayette, LA. The company announced three matches for the upcoming SmackDown.

Last month, Cameron Grimes defeated Baron Corbin in six seconds on the May 12th episode of SmackDown. Two weeks ago, Grimes told Adam Pearce that he will handle Corbin when Corbin appear on the blue brand. The match between Grimes and Corbin was made official for next week.

Last Friday, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler challenged NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn to a Tag Team Title Unification match. Fyre and Dawn accepted the challenge. The match will take place next week.

Last night on SmackDown, Shotzi challenged Bayley to put her MITB spot on the line, which means if Shotzi wins then Bayley will lose her Money in the Bank ladder match spot. IYO SKY accepted the challenge on behalf of Bayley. However, SKY said that without Bayley’s consent.

Here’s what was announced for next week’s SmackDown.

  • Tag Team Title Unification Match: Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs. Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn
  • Bayley vs. Shotzi (Bayley’s MITB spot is on the line)
  • Cameron Grimes vs. Baron Corbin
