The Great Muta is one of the legendary wrestlers in Japan. Muta sporadically competed on WCW in the 90s. However, he never wrestled in WWE. Last September, the Japanese legend appeared on AEW television, where he saved Sting from The House of Black.

Last year, Pro Wrestling NOAH announced that WWE superstar Shinsuke Nakamura is scheduled to compete at the New Year event on January 1st against The Great Muta. The match took place a few hours ago at Budokan Hall in Japan and it was one of Muta’s retirement match series.

In the closing moment of the match, Muta hit a shining wizard on Nakamura. However, the WWE superstar was kicked out at two. Nakamura then sprayed green mist on Muta. Later, Nakamura hit a Kinshasa to pick up the victory.

Following the match, Shinsuke Nakamura thanked fans and said that Muta is his idol. Both Nakamura and Muta then stood tall on the ramp to end the show.
