Last year, Sasha Banks and Naomi who were Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time walked out from WWE on the May 16th episode of Monday Night RAW after a creative meeting with Vince McMahon. The company then stripped them from the title.

Last June, Raj Giri reported that Sasha Banks granted her WWE release. Banks and Naomi appeared on numerous fashion shows and other events together.

Despite granting the release, Sasha Banks was unable to appear in any wrestling promotion until January 1st due to a non-compete clause. Banks is now officially a free agent and she is able to appear in any wrestling promotion.

NJPW’s biggest event Wrestle Kingdom 17 is taking place this month as two days event. The first show started a few hours ago at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. During the show, Kairi retained the IWGP Women’s Championship by defeating Tam Nakano. Following the match, Mercedes Monè formerly known as Sasha Banks made her NJPW debut and attacked Kairi. Monè then challenged Kairi to a match at Battle in the Valley on February 18th in San Jose, California for the IWGP Women’s Title.
