Edge wrestled his last match in his current WWE contract on the August 18th episode of SmackDown. In that show, the Rated R Superstar picked up the victory over Sheamus to celebrate his 25th anniversary in WWE. Last Thursday, Edge confirmed on the Fan Morning Show that the current deal is set to expire next month.
Yesterday, Wade Keller of PWTorch reported that WWE has declined Edge’s contract renewal demands. Keller added that the “belief within WWE that he is probably headed to AEW and knew at that time what AEW could offer him.” Keller further noted that Tony Khan is a huge fan of the Rated R Superstar.
Today, the WWE Hall of Famer posted a video on X and denied PWTorch’s report. Edge confirmed that he and the company are on good terms. Edge said that he didn’t request a “crazy contract.” He also said that the company didn’t deny him. WWE has offered him a contract extension.
“There’s nothing going on. There’s no hard feelings between me and WWE. I love WWE. It’s my dream gig. It’s all I ever wanted to do. And I didn’t come at them with some crazy contract or anything, and they didn’t deny me. I have a contract extension sitting in my inbox. I just don’t know what to do…”
