Two months ago, Kenny Omega faced Jon Moxley in a Steel Cage match on the May 10th episode of AEW Dynamite. Don Callis turned on Omega during the match. Since then, Callis received a chorus of boos whenever he appears on AEW television.
Yesterday, Kenny Omega faced El Hijo Del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship at Triplemanía XXXI. Omega was unable to win the title.
Don Callis confronted Kenny Omega during the post-show press conference. Konosuke Takeshita then attacked Omega. However, Callis faced an unexpected incident at the press conference.
Security intervened in the brawl between Omega and Takeshita. Meanwhile, a fan attacked Callis which wasn’t a planned spot.
Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer reported that the fan was upset about what Callis said to Omega during the brawl. The fan then jumped Callis from behind ripped his suit, concussed his eardrum, and busted open his mouth. Alvarez further said that Callis was sent to the hospital. Callis’ neck and ankle were injured due to the fan attack.
