Tony Schiavone Says Joe Tessitore Is Not On Excalibur's Level

Last July, WWE signed Joe Tessitore as a play-by-play commentator for Monday Night RAW. Tessitore made his WWE RAW debut on the September 2nd episode alongside Wade Barret.

Many fans on social media responded positively to Joe Tessitore’s work. On the What Happened When podcast, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone said Tessitore will do best in his new role. Schiavone also said he doesn’t think Tessitore is on the same level as AEW announcer Excalibur.

“I’m sure he [Joe Tessitore] will do well. And I’m sure Nick Khan is paying him a big chunk of money. I’m sure he is gonna end up being one of the best, I would hope, play-by-play men in wrestling. I don’t think he’ll be in the class of Excalibur, but then again, right now, in this day and age, no one is. He’s amazing.”
