AEW President Tony Khan made a big announcement regarding CM Punk and The Elite backstage controversy during last night’s AEW Dynamite. Khan said that he has vacated the AEW World Championship and the AEW World Trios Championships.

Orange Cassidy and Best Friends faced Pac and The Lucha Brothers for the AEW World Trios Titles on last night’s show. The match was won by Pac and The Lucha Brothers. They are now the new AEW World Trios Champions.

The new AEW World Champion will be crowned on the September 21st Grand Slam Tournament of Champions episode of AEW Dynamite. Adam Page, Bryan Danielson, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley are competing in the tournament.
Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley are in the semi-finals of the AEW World Championship tournament. In the first match of the tournament, Adam Page faced Bryan Danielson which was won by Danielson. The American Dragon is now scheduled to face Chris Jericho in the first semi-finals on next week’s AEW Dynamite.
The winner of the Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin match will face Jon Moxley in the second semi-finals next week on AEW Dynamite. The AEW World Championship tournament finals will take place on the September 21st episode of Dynamite.
