Swerve Strickland Comments On Potential Crossover Between WWE & AEW

WWE has a great relationship with several wrestling promotions now more than ever. TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace appeared on WWE television twice this year. NXT’s Charlie Dempsey competed in All Japan Pro Wrestling earlier this year as well.

Meanwhile, AEW has already established a good relationship with NJPW and Stardom. Numerous Japanese wrestlers appear on AEW television and compete for the titles. Jon Moxley is the current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

WWE and AEW have had a somewhat good relationship in the past. Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson, and Paul Wight appeared on WWE television to congratulate John Cena on his 20-year anniversary in 2022.

Swerve Strickland recently appeared on The Bootleg Kev podcast, where he said that this is a better time for a potential crossover between WWE and AEW.

“If there’s ever a time it could happen, now is more likely than it’s ever been. I don’t think either person [Tony Khan and Paul Levesque] is opposed, but if there’s ever a time, like as far as Tony Khan, I don’t think there’s ever been a time that’s more likely than now. The percentage went from 0.04 to 2.4 and that’s more than we’ve ever gotten.”
