Robert Roode started his pro wrestling career in 1998. Roode worked in TNA (Total Nonstop Action) majority of his career before signing with WWE in 2016. Roode first appeared on WWE television at NXT TakeOver: Dallas. The Glorious One was presented as a main event level star in the black & gold brand. However, he had an underwhelming run on the main roster.
The 47-year-old last wrestled on the June 25th, 2022 WWE Live Event in Amarillo, Texas where he lost to “The Nigerian Giant” Omos.
Last November, the former United States Champion underwent neck fusion surgery for his C5 & C6 vertebrae. Roode once again underwent neck fusion surgery at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic in May.
Yesterday, PWInsider reported that Robert Roode was spotted in Detroit, Michigan ahead of SummerSlam. In an update, PWInsider noted that Roode will be working as a producer for this Saturday’s PLE. They also stated that he will continue his role this Monday on RAW.
“As PWInsider.com broke yesterday, Bobby Roode is in town in Detroit for Summerslam.
In asking around today, we are told he will be helping out as a Producer and will also be at Raw this Monday in that role.”
