Rob Van Dam made his All Elite Wrestling debut on the August 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite, where he was introduced by Jerry Lynn as Jack Perry’s opponent. A week later, RVD faced Jack Perry in an FTW Rules match for the FTW Championship but he was unable to win the bout.
Last month, RVD teamed up with Hook to defeat Angelo Parker and Matt Menard in a Tag Team match on AEW Collision.
RVD competed in AEW for the third time on last night’s Dynamite in Philadelphia, where he and Hook defeated Alex Reynolds and John Silver in a Tag Team match.
Before making AEW debut, WWE advertised RVD as part of the WrestleMania 40 priority pass ticket package. On his “1 Of A Kind With RVD” podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer said that he was removed from next year’s WrestleMania after AEW appearance.
“I got a phone call, I picked up because it was from the big company [WWE], and had a little talk, got officially unbooked from Philly, Then about 30 minutes later, I got another message, got officially rebooked in Philly from another company [AEW]. So that was pretty good. In the meantime, I’m just reading letters: A. E. It happened when I got there and before I left, before I even had a chance to even think about the first message, and so that’s just the universe doing what it does which is pretty awesome.”
