Madcap Moss made his return to WWE in 2021 after being sidelined with torn ACL for months. Moss portrayed a comedic gimmick and he was aligned with Happy Corbin on WWE television. Last April, Corbin attacked Moss, ending their partnership.

The 33-year-old star competed against Shinsuke Nakamura on the April 14th episode of Friday Night SmackDown but he wasn’t able to get the win. Following the match, Moss tried to attack Nakamura from behind but he was taken down by an armbar.

WWE.com is now listed Madcap Moss as Riddick Moss. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter explained why WWE change Moss’ name. Meltzer noted that the company wanted the NXT version (cocky attitude and impressive physique) of Moss.

”They are dropping the Madcap Moss name, since they dropped the actual gimmick some time ago, and he’ll be Riddick Moss going forward.”
