AEW announced its first video game on November 10th, 2020. The video game is developed by Yuke’s and published by THQ Nordic. However, the game’s release date was postponed multiple times due to various reasons.

Last April, AEW President Tony Khan revealed the video game name “AEW Fight Forever”. In August, AEW and THQ Nordic released a teaser trailer and the cover. The cover art included CM Punk.

However, Punk was suspended from the company and also removed from the game’s cover due to he was involved in a backstage fight during the All Out media scrum.

Many fans wonder why the AEW Fight Forever video game didn’t release yet. WrestleZone.com has reported that AEW and THQ Nordic submitted AEW Fight Forever to ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) to get the teen rating for the game. But the game was rejected multiple times.

According to their sources, “the amount of blood and gore in AEW Fight Forever prevented the game from achieving a Teen rating”. The video game was once again submitted to ESRB and the people involved with the situation are confident that this time the issues are resolved.

WWE and 2K announced that WWE 2K23 will be released on March 17th. AEW Fight Forever is now scheduled to be released in February. However, the belief is that the AEW game release date will postpone to May due to WWE 2K23.
