Last week, WWE announced that there won’t be a live RAW tonight. Instead, the company is airing the highlighted moments of WWE RAW this year as “RAW: The Absolute Best of 2022.”
This past Friday’s SmackDown was taped after the December 16th episode of SmackDown went off the air. Also, The upcoming NXT episode is taped two weeks ago.
Fightful Select reported the reason for WWE not airing live tonight’s RAW. They stated that the company wants to give backstage staff additional vacation time.
“Fightful had been inquiring about the status of the December 26 Raw since before the announcement, and spoke to some within the company following it. One talent indicated they hadn’t been told the reason and said that they were wondering themselves as to why, before updating and noted that it was likely to give production workers some additional time off.”
WWE holding two live events tonight despite RAW being canceled. One event is scheduled to take place from Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY and the other is set to take place from Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH.
The first live episode of Monday Night RAW in 2023 is set to take place on January 2nd from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Here is the card for the show.
- RAW Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Alexa Bliss.
- United States Championship: Austin Theory (c) vs. Seth Rollins.
