Pat McAfee Returning To WWE SmackDown In 2023

Last month, Pat McAfee took a leave of absence from WWE. It was later announced that McAfee signed a contract with ESPN and he working as a full-time member of the “College Gameday” broadcast. He started his new career at the Alabama vs. Texas game in Austin, Texas last month.

Many fans were shocked after hearing that news because McAfee quickly learned everything from Michael Cole and brought new energy to the blue brand. However, Pat McAfee stated that he will return to the company.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer has reported that Pat McAfee is scheduled to make his return for SmackDown in January and he will be the third commentator on the blue brand along with Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.

Yesterday, the company changed its WWE RAW, SmackDown, and NXT announce teams and it will effective from tonight’s SmackDown. As of result, Jimmy Smith was fired from the company.
