NJPW Wrestling Dontaku 2023 Results: Three Titles Changed, Jon Moxley's Return Announced

NJPW’s Wrestling Dontaku event took place today at the Fukuoka Kokusai Center in Fukuoka, Japan.

Here are the quick results of the show.

  • Oskar Leube defeated Ryohei Oiwa.
  • Chaos (Toru Yano, Yoh, Hirooki Goto & Yoshi-Hashi) defeated the House of Torture (Evil, Yujiro Takahashi, Sho & Dick Togo) in an Eight-Man Tag Team match.
  • United Empire (Kyle Fletcher, Mark Davis & Great-O-Khan) defeated TMDK (Mikey Nicholls, Shane Haste & Kosei Fujita) in a Six-Man Tag Team match.
  • Shota Umino, Kushida & Kevin Knight defeated Aaron Henare, Francesco Akira & TJP in a Six-Man Tag Team match.
  • Just 5 Guys (Taichi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Douki) defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi & Bushi) in a Six-Man Tag Team match.
  • Hikuleo became the new STRONG Openweight Champion by defeating KENTA.
  • Zack Sabre Jr. retained his NJPW World Television Championship by defeating Jeff Cobb via a 15-minute time-limit draw.
  • Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii & Hiroshi Tanahashi became the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champions by defeating Minoru Suzuki, El Desperado & Ren Narita. Following the match, Shota Umino announced that he, Jon Moxley, and another wrestler will challenge for the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Titles at Dominion pay-per-view on Sunday, June 4th.
  • David Finlay became the new NEVER Openweight Champion by defeating Tama Tonga.
  • Sanada retained hit IWGP World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Hiromu Takahashi. Following the match, Yota Tsuji hit Sanada with a spear revealing himself as the next challenger for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title.
