More Details On QT Marshall’s Departure From AEW

More Details On QT Marshall's Departure From AEW

On Monday, QT Marshall announced that he would leave All Elite Wrestling at the end of this year. In the statement, Marshall stated that AEW has changed a lot since 2019. He decided to leave because the company is heading in a different direction.

QT Marshall runs the Nightmare Factory training school along with Cody Rhodes. Haus of Wrestling reported that Marshall’s backstage influence in AEW decreased after Cody left the company. They added that QT Marshall wanted to be a wrestler rather than work behind the scenes. Marshall told his close allies that the company is focusing only on wrestling instead of storytelling.

Sources told Haus of Wrestling that Tony Khan always liked the NJPW styles. Marshall is focusing on “having fun, wrestling, and improving as a performer.”

Haus of Wrestling further noted that “those we spoke with close to the WWE side said they were skeptical that WWE would be interested in hiring Marshall strictly as a performer but were unsure of how much pull [Cody] Rhodes has at the moment.”
