In 2016, Mark Hunt competed against Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 on 9 July. However, Hunt lost the fight via unanimous decision. On 15 July, Lesnar’s pre-fight drug test results revealed that he had used a performance-enhancing drug, which was flagged by USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency). Therefore, the Nevada State Athletic Commission suspended Brock Lesnar for one year. The result of the fight was changed to a No Contest.
In 2017, Mark Hunt filed a lawsuit against UFC, Dana White, and Brock Lesnar over his UFC 200 loss. In the lawsuit, Hunt claimed that White had known Lesnar’s PED usage, yet gave him a chance to compete. He also levied a series of allegations. Hunt wanted Lesnar’s full purse of $2.5 million for the bout.
In 2019, a judge of the U.S. District Court in Nevada dismissed all of Hunt’s claims. Hunt’s case has been revived by appeal court in 2021.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey concluded that Mark Hunt had failed to provide sufficient evidence that UFC and Dana White knew about Brock Lesnar’s usage of PEDs. Dorsey dismissed the case.
