NOAH The New Year 2024 took place on January 2nd at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan. In the main event, Kota Ibushi faced Naomichi Marufuji. The bout went on for more than 30 minutes. Ibushi was able to pick up the victory.
Sports Hochi reported that Kota Ibushi had injured both ankles earlier in the match. Ibushi walked backstage after the bout without help from anyone. Sports Hochi added that the former NJPW wrestler was in severe pain backstage and was later transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Last November, AEW announced that they had signed Kota Ibushi to the company. Ibushi can work with other wrestling promotions as part of his AEW deal. He last competed in Tony Khan’s company on the November 15th episode of Dynamite.
