Kenny Omega Undergoes Surgery

Last December, Kenny Omega was diagnosed with diverticulitis after being admitted to the hospital. Omega made his return on the May 1st episode of AEW Dynamite. However, he was written off from AEW television with an attack angle.

For months, Kenny Omega decided whether he needed surgery or not. On Thursday, May 16th, the former AEW World Champion underwent surgery to recover from diverticulitis, according to Fightful Select.

Before undergoing surgery, Kenny Omega stated the following during a Twitch stream:

“I have a wonderful doctor that I was able to find. And he is someone who is the top — the top of his field. And he is very hard to get appointments with and he’s very hard to get surgeries with. However, he has done me a solid and I will actually be getting surgery very, very, very soon.”
