Karrion Kross made his NXT debut on the May 6th, 2020 episode of WWE NXT. Kross was then represented as the top guy on the brand and won the NXT Championship two times.
The former NXT Champion joined the main roster on the July 19th, 2021 episode of Monday Night RAW, where he was defeated by Jeff Hardy. Kross had a lackluster run on the red brand until being released from the company in November 2021.
Triple H brought back Karrion Kross and Scarlett to WWE after becoming the head of creative in July last year. Kross and Scarlett made their return on the August 5th, 2022 episode of SmackDown. However, Kross’ second run on the main roster has also been underwhelming and didn’t make much impact on WWE television.
During an interview with Josh Martinez’s Superstar Crossover, the former NXT Champion discussed his main roster run so far. Kross said that fans didn’t see his best work yet. Kross further noted that it’s hard to get opportunities because of the big roster with limited television time.
“This is probably unhealthy, and I shouldn’t say it, but I’m just gonna say it. I actually get really pissed, because it’s not enough. It’s not enough. I haven’t reached my full potential yet and people haven’t seen my best work yet. I know what I can do, and at this level, you need to be afforded certain types of opportunities, which is difficult with a big roster and only two hours of the program.
And I know that once I am afforded that particular shot — because I’ve been afforded a lot, let’s not get it twisted — once I am afforded that particularly shot to demonstrate what I can really do, what I’ve done where people on a major scale haven’t seen it? People are gonna be blown away. And I’m gonna fight for that every single week, to get closer and closer to that shot. And I’m being straight with you, I’m being very real.”
