Jimmy Smith was a former MMA commentator who became the play-by-play commentator for Monday Night RAW on May 26th, 2021. Smith was a replacement for former WWE RAW commentator Adnan Virk.

Many fans praised Smith’s work despite not having any wrestling knowledge before. However, since last Friday WWE changed its commentary teams from all brands. As of result, Jimmy Smith was released from the company.

During MMA on SiriusXM podcast, Jimmy Smith said that WWE cares about superstars who pretend they can fight rather than pushing actually who can. Smith mentioned Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns as examples.

The WWE behind the scenes is more CM Punk than Brock Lesnar. Does this guy look like he can fight?’ That’s what the WWE is about. Roman Reigns can’t fight. He looks like he can fight. He’s just a big muscular dude.

What is your thought on Jimmy Smith’s statement?
