On Monday, Connecticut judge Colleen Zingaro ruled in favor of Janel Grant’s request for discovery against Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness. This decision enables Grant’s legal team to access medical records related to her past treatments at the clinic.
The case stems from serious allegations in Grant’s lawsuit, where she accuses Colker and Peak Wellness of administering unapproved substances that allegedly allowed Vince McMahon to control her. Grant’s team has also requested internal documents from McMahon and WWE, including Non-Disclosure Agreement drafts and communications between McMahon and Colker.
In response, WWE and McMahon attempted to block these requests by filing an appeal, labeling the discovery effort as a “fishing expedition.” Meanwhile, Dr. Colker has fired back by suing Grant’s attorney and her law firm for defamation, claiming all relevant records were already provided and seeking punitive damages.
This latest ruling, while significant, is separate from the broader federal case against McMahon and WWE, where a judge has yet to rule on whether Grant’s discovery request will proceed.
