Big E last competed on the March 11th, 2022 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where he and Kofi Kingston faced Sheamus and Ridge Holland in a tag team match.

Unfortunately, Big E suffered a career-threatening neck injury during the match. The former WWE Champion participated in numerous WWE projects in recent months while recovering from the injury.

Recently, WRKD Wrestling reported that WWE has a long-term plan for New Day. The current plan is for New Day to feud with Imperium once Big E and Kofi Kingston are medically cleared to compete and “the centerpiece for the feud would be Big E facing Gunther.”

The 2023 WWE Draft will kick off from the upcoming Friday Night SmackDown. According to the latest report from WRKD Wrestling, Big E is scheduled to make his return during the Draft.

“One name rumored to return during the upcoming draft is former WWE champion, Big E.

Big E has been sidelined with a major neck injury since March ‘22.”
