Miro made his debut in AEW on the September 9th, 2020 episode of Dynamite after being released from WWE in April of that year. Miro had a great run in the first year of the company. In May of 2021, he won the TNT Championship and held the Title for 140 days.
Last year, the former TNT champion competed in only four matches. Miro last competed at All Out pay-per-view, where he teamed with Sing and Darby Allin to defeat The House of Black in a Six-Man Tag Team match. Since then, Miro disappeared from AEW television.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that Tony Khan pitched an idea for Miro in September leading up to the Full Gear pay-per-view. Meltzer noted that Khan offered a Battle Royal for Miro where he and Adam Page would be the final two. However, Miro turned it down because he would have to lose.
“Tony Khan had pitched an idea for him in September for Full Gear. One thing he turned down was losing a Battle Royal where he and Adam Page would have been the last two. Khan had said that after the PPV, they’d try and get back, and obviously, his name hasn’t been mentioned since.”
