UFC 306 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 14th at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada. Riyadh Season has sponsored the event and branded it as Noche UFC. Sean O’Malley will defend his Bantamweight Championship against Merab Dvalishvili in the main event of the show.
On the same day, Canelo Alvarez is scheduled to defend his Unified Super Middleweight Championship against Edgar Berlanga two miles from the Sphere at T-Mobile Arena.
In an interview with ESPN, UFC CEO Dana White and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh, commented on Canelo Alvarez’s boxing match going head-to-head with Noche UFC.
“Canelo’s one of those guys that I respect and hey, good on [PBC’s Al] Haymon. Haymon snatched that date right away from me. The guys at MGM have done nothing but f–king disrespect me and the UFC for 20 years. It is what it is. Here we go,” White said.
