Dakota Kai last competed on the May 12th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where she and Bayley faced Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team Titles. Liv and Raquel were able to retain the title. However, a week later they had to relinquish the titles due to Liv Morgan’s shoulder injury.
Unfortunately, Liv Morgan isn’t the only competitor that sustained an injury during the tag team match. Fightful Select reported that Dakota Kai also suffered an injury.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that Dakota Kai suffered a torn ACL and is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday. It appears that Kai will be out of action for the rest of the year.
”The injury took place in the same match on May 12 that Liv Morgan was injured in with Raquel Rodriguez & Morgan vs. Kai & Bayley for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles. The word was that she was injured after Morgan suffered her shoulder injury and the knee injury came in a spot where she knew Morgan was hurt and was trying to protect her.”
