Earlier this year, Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi Rhodes departed from All Elite Wrestling after failing to negotiate a new deal. Cody then decided to return to WWE which nobody thought would happen.

Last April, The American Nightmare made his return on night one of WrestleMania 38, where he defeated Seth Rollins. Cody Rhodes then continued his storyline with Seth Rollins through June.

Unfortunately, Cody suffered a torn pectoral tendon during a brawl with Rollins on the May 29th episode of Monday Night RAW. Despite being injured, Cody Rhodes was able to compete against Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match at Hell in a Cell PLE on June 5th. Following the match, Cody was out of action for the rest of the year.

In this week’s special edition of RAW, Cody Rhodes appeared on screen and said that he is done with Seth Rollins and wants to win the WWE Championship. However, WWE still planning the fourth match between Rhodes and Rollins.

Multiple news sources report that Cody Rhodes could be returning on the January 2nd episode of Monday Night RAW. In that episode of RAW, Austin Theory defends his United States Championship against Seth Rollins. Most of them believe that Cody will do some sort of interference in that match.
