WWE NXT defeated AEW Dynamite in the ratings after going head-to-head last Tuesday. Both companies announced stacked cards for the shows. WWE NXT drew an average of 921,000 viewers with 0.30 in the 18-49 demo while AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday drew an average of 609,000 viewers with 0.26 in the 18-49 demo.
Two years ago, Chris Jericho stated on Busted Open Radio that “Sooner or later, we’re [AEW] going to start beating RAW” after AEW Dynamite drew an average of 1.047 million viewers for the September 1st, 2021 episode.
In an interview with The Messenger, Chris Jericho revealed that he informed Tony Khan to bring back Mike Tyson, Shaq, and Snoop Dogg as a counterattack to WWE NXT. The Demo God also issued a warning to WWE after NXT won the Tuesday Night War against AEW Dynamite.
“You know, you can only bring in Cena and Undertaker and Cody and everybody else so much because nobody wants to work on their secondary show all the time, And it was a fun little, ‘Hey, F–k you AEW.’ I didn’t even really worry about it… I told Tony, ‘Well, if you want to fire back, bring in Shaq and Snoop Dogg and those types of guys, Mike Tyson. But Tony didn’t do that…. So, don’t get too far up your own a– because you didn’t do that good of a job as far as crushing us. And our show was better than theirs, quite frankly. So, it doesn’t bother me.”
