Canelo Alvarez's Next Title Fight Reportedly Going Head-To-Head With UFC 306 At Sphere

Last May, Canelo Alvarez (61-2-2) defeated Jaime Munguia (43-1) via unanimous decision to retain the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO Super Middleweight Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. Alvarez’s next boxing match is set to take place in September.

Mike Coppinger of ESPN reported that Canelo Alvarez is close to finalizing the deal to defend his Super Middleweight Championship against Edgar Berlanga on Saturday, September 14th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight will go head-to-head with UFC 306 at Sphere.

Edgar Berlanga (22-0) is currently on an undefeated streak. The 27-year-old last competed in February, where he defeated Padraig McCrory (18-1) via TKO in round 6.
