Britt Baker is one of the top female wrestlers in All Elite Wrestling. However, Baker has been out of the AEW Women’s World Championship picture for a long time. She last held the top prize in the AEW Women’s Division in 2022.
The 32-year-old last competed on the September 16th episode of AEW Collision, where she faced Kris Statlander for the TBS Championship. Baker was unable to win the title. She then took time off from AEW to assist Adam Cole, who is dealing with an ankle injury.
Recently, Britt Baker appeared on “Ring the Belle,” where Baker explained why she’s absent from AEW television. The former AEW Women’s World Champion blamed fans for her absence and said that fans wanted less of her in AEW. Baker added that she decided to step back and let the other women take her spot.
“Yeah. I think with our very passionate fans, they’re very vocal with what they want, what they don’t want, what they like, [and] what they don’t like. We listen. I listen. If they are telling me they want more or less of something, okay, I hear you loud and clear. A lot of them said, ‘We want less Britt Baker.’ So, if that’s what they want, that’s what they’ll get. Let me take a step back, here are the rest of the women. Someone else take the ball and run with it and make the women’s division about you and you be the face of the women’s division. When no one else can do that, I’ll be there to pick up the pieces and do it all over again.”
